Here's a quick rundown of all the important stuff from the FFXIV 6.4 patch notes.
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4 is live and now you can enjoy the next chapter of the critically acclaimed MMORPG: The Dark Throne.
You can read its full versioncode notes here, this is the condensed version with all the highlights and important information.
Notas do patch FFXIV 6.4
Part of this patch is the long-awaited final chapter of the Pandaemonium raid-tier Anabaseios. With the continuation of the quest line, as well as 4 new normal attacks to sink your teeth into.
You will have to be patient with Savage. The Anabaseios Savage tier will unlock next week on May 30th, which also marks the start of another world championship race.
So if you're interested in joining or clearing the first week, make sure you close your limits.
This patch will also introduce the next chapter for the main quest scenario, which will likely also spell the end of the current story after Endwalker.
From now on, the story will start to change as usual and lead to the next expansion 7.0 which is expected to be released early next year.
Part of the MSQ, as always, is a new dungeon called Aetherfont, as well as the test "The Void Cast Days", this test will also be available in extreme difficulty after first completion.
PvE job balance changes
Before we get into the big changes, we need to discuss what has changed in general.
Most party skills now have a range of 30 yalms instead of 15. This means they should now cover most of the battlefield depending on the arena.
Other than that, there have been a few small tweaks here and there to make a job's individual damage output more consistent with others in its role. And somehow the Samurai got excited that they could become the best DPS again.
Samurai
Action | Adjustment | |
---|---|---|
Tenka Goken | Range increased from 5 to 8 yards. | |

Ogi Namikiri | Power increased from 800 to 860. | |
Kaeshi: Namikiri | Power increased from 800 to 860. |
But we see the biggest changes within the role. While the Dark Knight was king in terms of raw damage throughout Endwalker's patch cycle, everyone else lacked the buffs to come to snuff.

Why they felt the need to stuff Warrior despite his already insane survivability is beyond us, but you can read the developer's reasoning herehere.
Dragoon is the only work that has received any significant review. As long as he didn't gain crazy fans. After all, he's been the top DPS for the last few months.
The main change in Dragoon has been in the way its core gameplay works. Previously, Dragoon's various jumping abilities would lock him in place for a certain amount of time.
These jumps will now only have a visual cue and will not change the player's position. Which means they can now also run while linked.
Knight
Action | Adjustment | |
---|---|---|
To jump | It can now run while linked. To improve the functionality of this action, Jump will no longer affect the character's position recognized by the server. The camera will no longer follow your character when performing a jump. | |
litany of battle | Increased radius of effect from 15 to 30 meters. | |
dragon vision | Now cancels action direction requirements for yourself. | |
high jump | It can now run while linked. To improve the functionality of this action, the high jump will no longer affect the character's position recognized by the server. The camera will no longer follow your character when performing the high jump. |
Changes in Quality of Life
A new Final Fantasy XIV patch also means some improvements to the user interface and player experience.
One of the smaller but much appreciated changes is the ability to display task icons next to a player signal and/or in party chat. Also, paint their name according to their role when they join a group or group chat.
To access this option, simply tap Character Settings > Display Name Settings > General to find all the options.
Now your signs can look like they did in 1.0 again, minus the banner you selected in Linkshells, but we're getting there.
Another small but appreciated change is the ability to enchant everything everywhere at once when using the skill at an inn.
For example, if you want to quickly change your glasses, but they are stored in your shiny dresser or on a stand, you can simply access them without interacting with any of them.
Added more content
While MSQ raiders and partygoers are devouring this patch, we can't forget the more casual content. Some of them are not included in the 6.4 patch, but there are still some things to look forward to.
The first is the Island Sanctuary content expansion. New classes have been added to unlock other features in your shelter. With that comes a new zone to explore and collect materials, as well as new things to craft and farm.
We'll have a guide for all of them soon.
We can't forget Final Fantasy XIV's best content, Ocean Fishing. With patch 6.4 you will be able to go on a fishing trip to Hingashi. The only caveat is that you will need to complete the main scenario quest "Stormblood".
With this new route, 'Ruby Route' players can tackle new travel quests and catch new fish! And of course, there will be new bonuses, achievements and rewards for completing content.
What's next for Final Fantasy XIV 6.4 and beyond?
Patch 6.45 content will arrive sometime in the next 2-3 months. This will include the next chapter of Questline Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures, as well as the next leg of Relict Weapons.
This patch will also include the next step in Splendid Craftsman/Gatherer Tools that you can earn by completing various Requests in Crystarium.
With patch 6.45, we will finally see new content for the limited Blue Mage job. Your level cap will be raised to 80 and new spells, tests, attacks and challenges will be available with new unique rewards to earn.
Last but not least, this patch will also include the upcoming Variant dungeon and Criterion Dungeon: Mount Rokkon.
Variant Dungeon is a curated adventure experience where players can explore a branching story. While the Criterion Dungeon is a challenging 4-player affair in its normal and wild iterations.
